1. There are 2 players, Black goes first. Player turn is indicated at the top of the board. On each turn, a player can select a piece and move or capture an enemy piece with it.

2. Player pieces can only move forward diagonally on the darker squares of the board, one square on each turn, if the square is empty. Player turn ends after a move.

3. Pieces can capture enemy pieces if the enemy is in a position they could have moved to and there is an empty square in the same diagonal direction for the piece to move to. If there is a further capture opportunity after executing one, the player has to continue capturing till none is available. Player turn ends after capture or sequence of captures.

4. If there is a chance to capture an enemy piece during the player's turn, the player MUST perform a capture. If there is more than one opportunity, the player can select which piece to use and which piece to capture at their discretion.

5. On reaching the final row of an opponent's board, a piece is promoted to a king. Kings can move and capture in all 4 diagonal directions. On becoming a king, player turn ends.

6. The game ends when a player has no pieces remaining OR if they are unable to take an action at the start of their turn.
